The cousin of Sega's more famous RPG Phantasy Star II, Sword of Vermilion is a combination of action, adventure, and RPG elements in a more traditional medieval-fantasy setting. A third-person, top-down perspective is used to move around towns. A first-person view is used for overland travel outside of towns. A third-person sideview perspective (a la Double Dragon or Final Fight) is used for the combat sequences.The player is cast in the role of an ordinary young man who discovers that he is really a prince, and the son of the deceased good King Erik. He is charged with traveling around the land of Excalabria to collect the 8 magic Rings of Good, defeating a number of boss enemies on the way to confronting the evil King Tsarkon.		Merchant Offers

GREAT GAME. HARD TO FIND GAME. FOR SEGA GENESIS VIDEO GAME SYSTEM. A MUST BUY FOR ANY COLLECTOR. GREAT FOR ALL AGES. HOURS OF GREAT SUPER FUN. GREAT GAMEPLAY. Gameplay The gameplay features different views and play style to break away from the more traditional RPGs at the time. * The Town View would utilize the typical overhead angle found in most RPGs. This is the only view where you can't view your status during gameplay. * The Battle View would be a tilt overhead view where the player takes full control of the character in real-time combat action. You can use your weapons and magic. There is nothing that is menu-based. * The Dungeon View would be in a first person perspective where an array of sprites represent the maze corridors' walls. The view was likely influenced by Phantasy Star or Ultima. * The Boss View puts you up against a boss resembling a platform game.
